What We Evaluate for a Custom Chimney Cap
Some chimney tops require a custom cap because of unusual flue sizes, multiple flues, limited mounting space, or other nonstandard conditions. Fort Worth Chimney Sweeps evaluates the chimney-top layout and recommends a cap configuration that fits the existing system while maintaining appropriate clearance and ventilation.
Flue Configuration: We evaluate the number, size, shape, and spacing of the flue openings so the chimney cap can be properly sized for the existing chimney-top layout.
Chimney-Top Dimensions: We measure the available mounting area and surrounding chimney-top conditions to determine whether a standard cap will work or a custom-sized option is more appropriate.
